Meet our Dementia Care Specialists
Meet Shivya and Shlok
We are Shivya and Shlok, and we are honoured to be launching the Bromley branch of Rainbow Dementia Group. Our journey into dementia care is deeply personal, rooted in our own family experiences and the values we hold dear.
Shlok’s grandfather has been living with dementia, and having witnessed firsthand the challenges that families face during such a difficult time, he understands the emotional and physical toll it can take. These experiences have shaped his passion for offering support to families, ensuring that they don’t have to navigate this journey alone.
In 2022, Shivya spent the entire year caring for her grandmother, who sadly passed away recently. Her dedication to her grandmother during that time reinforced her belief in the importance of compassionate, home-based care. We come from a family where caring for our elders is not just a responsibility, but a privilege, and this belief is at the core of our mission.
With the Bromley branch of Rainbow Dementia Group, we aim to provide families with an alternative to institutional care homes. Our goal is simple: to keep families united, offering the kind of care that allows loved ones to stay at home, surrounded by the people who matter most. We believe that dementia care should be built on respect, compassion, and a deep understanding of the emotional journey families face.
Through our services, we want to create a supportive environment where each individual is treated like family—ensuring that both the person with dementia and their loved ones feel valued, respected, and cared for.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the taster day free?
Totally. We want you to experience the day as if you were a full member. This means places are limited, so please contact us today to reserve a place.
Is it a full day or half day?
The day runs from 10am until 4pm. This is really important to give the carer a full day respite, but also to embed the loved one into the group. The change that takes place when someone gets a full day of stimulation is much faster, so beneficial all round.
Can the carer stay with the loved one?
We don’t advise this, no. This is because it is as important for the carer to get some time off and feel refreshed as it is for the loved one to feel part of the group.
Is there food?
Yes, we provide a healthy, nutritious lunch for all. (Allergies will be discussed prior to a taster day)
Do you give personal care?
We can provide personal care and we will deliver this support in the most respectful and dignified way possible. We provide a thorough assessment where we will be able to offer clarification on everything we can provide as part of our service.
