A welcoming dementia care club in Sutton Coldfield, based at Sutton Coldfield Rugby Football Club – a well-established and respected community venue in the heart of the local area.
We are proud to operate from this long-standing community hub, known for its welcoming atmosphere and strong local presence. Set within spacious, well-maintained grounds, the club provides a calm and relaxed environment away from busy town centre settings — making it an ideal location for a dementia care club.
Our sessions take place in the downstairs café area, offering a comfortable and informal space designed to feel familiar and social rather than clinical. This helps individuals feel at ease, encouraging connection, conversation, and meaningful engagement throughout the day.
The wider setting includes access to open green space, a rugby pitch, and nearby tennis facilities — creating a peaceful and varied environment that supports gentle activity, fresh air, and overall wellbeing.
The venue also benefits from:
- Easy access and on-site parking
- Safe, spacious surroundings
- A friendly, community-led atmosphere
- Flexible indoor and outdoor spaces
We make full use of this setting to provide a balance of structured and relaxed activities, always centred around the individual. Whether enjoying time indoors or stepping outside for fresh air, the environment allows us to create a calm, supportive, and engaging experience.

Sumera
Hi, I’m Sumera and I am incredibly proud to be bringing a dementia care club to Sutton Coldfield — a community close to my heart, having lived in Birmingham all my life.
My background is in finance, where I developed a strong foundation in structure, organisation, and delivering high standards. Alongside this, I have always had a clear ambition to build something meaningful within my local community — something that genuinely improves people’s lives.
As a parent to two young daughters, building a future rooted in compassion, connection, and purpose has never felt more important.
I believe in a person-centred approach — recognising that every individual has their own story, their own needs, and their own way of experiencing the world. By focusing on this, my aim is to help improve quality of life, bring moments of joy, and offer reassurance to families who need it most.
Having seen the difference that genuine, heartfelt care can make, I am dedicated to building a club that reflects compassion, dignity, and community spirit right here in Sutton Coldfield.
My Purpose – To bring comfort, understanding, and brighter days to every individual and family on their journey.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the taster day free?
Totally. We want you to experience the day as if you were a full member. This means places are limited, so please contact us today to reserve a place.
Is it a full day or half day?
The day runs from 10am until 4pm. This is really important to give the carer a full day respite, but also to embed the loved one into the group. The change that takes place when someone gets a full day of stimulation is much faster, so beneficial all round.
Can the carer stay with the loved one?
We don’t advise this, no. This is because it is as important for the carer to get some time off and feel refreshed as it is for the loved one to feel part of the group.
Is there food?
Yes, we provide a healthy, nutritious lunch for all. (Allergies will be discussed prior to a taster day)
Do you give personal care?
We can provide personal care and we will deliver this support in the most respectful and dignified way possible. We provide a thorough assessment where we will be able to offer clarification on everything we can provide as part of our service.
