Imperial Recreational Ground, Royal Avenue, Exmouth, Devon, EX8 1DG.
We are based in East Devon & Exeter, at Exmouth Rugby Football Club, Imperial Recreational Ground, Royal Avenue, Exmouth, Devon, EX8 1DG.
We are proud to operate from Exmouth Rugby Football Club, affectionately known as “The Cockles.” Established in 1873, the club celebrated its 150th year in 2023 and sits in a beautiful town centre location overlooking the Exe Estuary, offering a truly enviable coastal setting.
We make full use of this fantastic space, which includes outdoor seating areas and hard floor surfaces around the rugby pitch—perfect for a wide range of activities. We also have access to BBQ facilities, a marquee, and two rugby pitches, allowing us to offer both structured indoor and outdoor experiences.
Inside, we benefit from an open-plan function room as well as a smaller, more intimate snug room. The venue also includes new facilities such as accessible toilets. With the rugby pitch immediately adjacent, we are able to seamlessly combine indoor and outdoor activities to suit everyone’s needs.
Our facilities include two indoor function rooms, a patio and covered outdoor area, kitchen and BBQ facilities, music and audiovisual equipment, and convenient car parking.
We currently run our sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 10am-4pm

Meet our Dementia Care Specialists
Andrea and Gareth Williamson
Hi, we’re Andrea and Gareth Williamson, proud owners of Rainbow Care Group – East Devon & Exeter. Together with our incredible team, we are passionate about changing the way dementia care is delivered.
I’m Andrea Williamson, Director of Rainbow Care Group East Devon & Exeter. I provide specialist dementia day care services to people and families across the community. Based in Exmouth, I bring over 30 years of experience supporting people living with dementia, and I remain just as passionate today as when I first began.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Dementia Studies and an RMA Level 4 qualification. In 2019, I completed an intensive eight-day programme in Birmingham with Meaningful Care Matters, focusing on the planning, design, and facilitation of Dementia Care Learning and The Butterfly Project.
I wholeheartedly believe that every person has the right to live well, and that this begins by placing emotional needs at the centre of everything we do. This belief shapes our culture at Rainbow Care, where care is not simply delivered—it is shared.
For me, the people who spend time with us are not just “members”—they are family. Together, we celebrate life, embracing the here and now, the beauty of each moment, and the natural rhythm of daily life.
I’m known for my warmth, experience, and ability to bring both heart and humour into dementia care. I’m passionate about what I do because I see every day that when people feel valued, understood, and emotionally supported, truly wonderful things can happen.
I’m Gareth, Andrea’s husband, and I’ve lived in the beautiful area of East Devon for most of my life. My background is quite different—I spent 12 years working in the hospitality and pub trade before changing direction around 24 years ago.
For the past 21 years, I’ve been running a successful renewable energy company locally. I’m now incredibly excited to bring Rainbow Care Group alongside Andrea into this wonderful part of Devon.
Together, we are both truly passionate about introducing Rainbow Care to East Devon, Exmouth, and Exeter, and about offering our community an inspiring and meaningful approach to living well with dementia.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the taster day free?
Totally. We want you to experience the day as if you were a full member. This means places are limited, so please contact us today to reserve a place.
Is it a full day or half day?
The day runs from 10am until 4pm. This is really important to give the carer a full day respite, but also to embed the loved one into the group. The change that takes place when someone gets a full day of stimulation is much faster, so beneficial all round.
Can the carer stay with the loved one?
We don’t advise this, no. This is because it is as important for the carer to get some time off and feel refreshed as it is for the loved one to feel part of the group.
Is there food?
Yes, we provide a healthy, nutritious lunch for all. (Allergies will be discussed prior to a taster day)
Do you give personal care?
We can provide personal care and we will deliver this support in the most respectful and dignified way possible. We provide a thorough assessment where we will be able to offer clarification on everything we can provide as part of our service.
