Our Leighton Buzzard Town Cricket Club
Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 4pm
Leighton Buzzard Town Cricket Club, Bell Close, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 1RX
Situated in the market town of Leighton Buzzard, our dementia day club is held in the warm and inviting clubhouse of the Leighton Buzzard Town Cricket Club. We are in the heart of the town, overlooking the cricket pitch and tennis courts. Cricket has been played on this site for 150 years!
Although initially temporary tents were here, we use the recently updated clubhouse that welcomes many generations of sporting families. With a large, free car park and bus stops right outside, it’s a convenient location, with the town centre a just short walk away.
Our unique dementia day clubs boast the highest staff to client ratio, with well trained staff delivering our pioneering person-centred approach. We want to know all about your family member or friend so that we can provide a meaningful and effective care to maintain the best quality of life possible for them.

Meet our Dementia Care Specialists
Meet Rich and Anna
Hello, we are Rich and Anna and we are really excited about opening the incredible Rainbow Care dementia day care Clubs in Leighton Buzzard.
We got involved with the Rainbow Care Group after searching for a business that would improve the lives of people living in our community. Once we saw how the Rainbow Care clubs run, we were sold.
Anna has worked in a very corporate world previously and Rich has worked in the charity sector for nearly 20 years. We are both passionate about making a difference for people living with dementia and their carers and the person-centred approach that the Rainbow Care model offers really fits with our values.

What's our mission & core values?
Our mission is to pioneer the way dementia care is provided in Nottingham by providing a specialist dementia day service that only focuses on the needs of people living with dementia in Nottingham. Dignity, Compassion, Respect, Inclusivity, Empowerment and Trust are our core values.
Is the taster day free?
Totally. We want you to experience the day as if you were a full member. This means places are limited, so please contact us today to reserve a place.
Is it a full day or half day?
The day runs from 10am until 4pm. This is really important to give the carer a full day respite, but also to embed the loved one into the group. The change that takes place when someone gets a full day of stimulation is much faster, so beneficial all round.
Can the carer stay with the loved one?
We don’t advise this, no. This is because it is as important for the carer to get some time off and feel refreshed as it is for the loved one to feel part of the group.
Is there food?
Yes, we provide a healthy, nutritious lunch for all. (Allergies will be discussed prior to a taster day)
Do you give personal care?
We can provide personal care and we will deliver this support in the most respectful and dignified way possible. We provide a thorough assessment where we will be able to offer clarification on everything we can provide as part of our service.
