About dementia daycare
Our UK wide day clubs promote independence, social interaction and activity, cognitive stimulation, and friendship; all delivered in a safe environment with full care support for those who need it. Our daycare service offers an amazing alternative to traditional care home-based day care, as we run our daycare in community settings, so for those who attend it feels more like a club.
It is staffed by fully qualified support workers who are trained in first aid, moving & handling, dementia awareness, and the safeguarding of vulnerable adults. We are also proud to say we guarantee the highest ratio of staff to attendees for a day care service.
With that in mind, it enables us us to tailor the day around people’s needs, wants and abilities ensuring split activities and one to one support is available should someone need it.
The activities are varied and include everything from trips out to entertainers, reminiscence, art, active games etc. Our experienced Activities manager adapts our activities so that everyone can participate no matter what limitations they may have.
- Our day clubs cater for 10-12 people and provide a full day of activities for those who attend
- Each of our day clubs run from 10am until 4pm in various locations within our area
- We provide refreshments and snacks throughout the day and a light lunch
- Transport options are available
- The day is an opportunity for some often much-needed respite for carers
We always put the person at the centre, and prior to any care package we always spend time with each person and their families to build a relationship and find out as much information as we can about our clients physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
As well as full care assessment we also give each of our clients a comprehensive life story to fill out, covering early life right through to retirement, enabling us to learn as much as we can about the individuality of each person. We want to support our clients so that they enjoy a normal, happy and active life.
